Server requirements: PrimaxBattleRoyaleX generates a fresh world for every match and deletes it once the match ends. World generation runs on the server’s main thread, so a weak CPU or low RAM will cause noticeable lag. A quality managed Minecraft host or a dedicated VPS with a strong single-thread CPU and ample RAM is strongly recommended. Shared or budget hosting is not suitable.
Squad Battle Royale brings team-based competition to PrimaxBattleRoyaleX. Built on top of BetterTeams, Squad mode lets groups of players fight together as a unit — with shared victories, coordinated strategy, and no friendly fire standing between you and the win. The last team with a surviving member takes it all, and every teammate shares in the glory.
BetterTeams must be installed and running for Squad mode to work. The mode will not function without it. See the BetterTeams integration guide for setup instructions.

How It Works

1

Form or Join a Team

Before queuing, players form or join a team through BetterTeams using the standard BetterTeams commands. No separate team management is needed inside PrimaxBattleRoyaleX.
2

Queue as a Team

Once your team is ready, queue for a Squad match. The plugin validates that your team meets the configured minimum size before allowing entry.
3

Match Start

The match begins when the minimum number of teams has joined — not a minimum total player count. Partial rosters are allowed; each team only needs to meet the configured minimum size, not a full roster.
4

Last Team Standing Wins

Teams are eliminated when all their members are dead. As long as one teammate is still alive, the team is still in the match. The final surviving team wins — and the victory announcement is broadcast to every member of that team.

Auto-Team Creation

If a solo player queues for Squad mode without an existing team, the plugin can automatically create a team for them. This keeps the queue moving and ensures solo players aren’t locked out of Squad matches. Auto-team behavior is configurable in game-settings.yml.

Features

No Friendly Fire

Optionally disable damage between teammates entirely, so players never have to worry about accidentally hurting their own squad.

Team Validation

The plugin checks that every team meets the configured minimum size before allowing queue entry. Undersized teams are blocked until they recruit enough players.

BetterTeams Integration

Squad mode uses your existing BetterTeams teams directly — no duplicate setup, no separate rosters. Manage teams the way you already do.

Shared Victory

When a team wins, every member receives the win announcement. Squad victories are attributed to the whole team, not just the last surviving player.

Configuration

All Squad mode settings — including minimum team size, minimum team count to start, friendly fire, border behavior, and queue rules — are managed in game-settings.yml. See the Game Settings configuration reference for a full breakdown of every available option. For BetterTeams installation and setup, see the BetterTeams integration guide.
