How It Works
1
Match Begins
A timed Deathmatch starts — by default 10 minutes, though the duration is fully configurable. All participants are teleported into the arena with their starting equipment.
2
Respawn on Death
When a player dies, they respawn automatically with their starting equipment. Deaths don’t knock players out of the match — they just temporarily remove them from play.
3
Kills Are Tracked
Every kill is recorded in two places: the current match’s leaderboard score, and the player’s permanent Deathmatch kill statistics. Both update in real time throughout the match.
4
Border Shrinks
The world border can be configured to shrink during the match, keeping players close together and ensuring the action stays concentrated rather than spread across the map.
5
Match Ends
The match ends when either the timer expires or only 1 player remains in the arena. At that point, the top 3 players by kill count are announced to everyone on the server.
Kill Statistics
Deathmatch tracks two separate kill counts for each player:Deathmatch kills are tracked separately from Solo and Squad kills in player statistics. Use
%primaxbr_deathmatch_kills% to display Deathmatch-specific kill counts on scoreboards, tab lists, or any PlaceholderAPI-compatible plugin.Features
- Starting equipment on respawn — players receive a configured loadout each time they spawn, ensuring everyone re-enters the match ready to fight (configurable in
game-settings.yml) - World border shrinks during the match — optionally shrink the border to keep combat zones tight and prevent players from camping the edges
- Early end condition — if only 1 player remains in the arena at any point, the match ends immediately rather than waiting for the timer
- Top 3 kill leaders announced — at match end, the three players with the most kills are broadcast to all players in a server-wide announcement
Configuration
All Deathmatch settings — including match duration, starting equipment, border shrink behavior, and respawn rules — are configured ingame-settings.yml.
See the Game Settings configuration reference for a full breakdown of every available option.
